Women's rights in Austria and Germany. Study Visit in Vienna

Study Visit

15-21 June 2020 | Vienna, Austria

Study Visit in Vienna: Women's suffrage just turned 100 years: What has been the situation regarding equal rights since then? What struggles have been fought and whats the situation today? How can youth work play its part in the advocacy for equal rights?

In 2019, women's suffrage celebrated its 100th birthday. What has been the situation regarding equal rights for women and men since then? What struggles have been fought in the past and what is the current situation? How can youth work play its part in the advocacy for equal rights?

Together we will travel to Vienna, where we will deal with the topics of women's emancipation and self-determination. We will look at historical as well as current events and deal with current social and political developments. We will visit advice centres, youth organisations, museums and cultural-political events and talk to experts.

The reference person for this study visit is Marie Juchacz, who as co-founder and central leader of the AWO was a committed campaigner for women's rights.

Women and men are equally invited to participate.

The working language ist GERMAN, so everyone who speaks German is very welcome.
The study visit can be recognised as educational leave by the German Ministry of Education.
