"Volu.M.E, Diversity and Inclusion - Echoes of volunteering"

Training Course

19-24 November 2025 | Guillestre, France

A training to support youth workers, project coordinators and mentors in developing their competences to implement more inclusive ESC projects and better support the young people with fewer opportunities.

General presentation

This activity is organised within the framework of a partnership of experienced organisations active in the field of European youth work, with a strong experience in the development of E.S.C projects (The Constellation). We have been developing together for more than 10 years learning activities aimed at offering opportunities for people active in this field (mentors, project coordinators, youth workers…) to develop their competences in order to enhance the quality of E.S.C projects.

Hors Pistes, the hosting organisation for this training, has been implementing EVS and ESC projects since 2013, with a strong focus on the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities or facing more obstacles in their participation in European volunteering projects.

Pro Vobis, our partner for this training and the Romanian National Resource Center for Volunteering, has over 20 years of experience developing learning resources and training professionals in volunteer management across Europe.

This activity will take place in Guillestre (French Alps), in a valley where Hors Pistes is organizing each year since 2021 a group volunteering project involving young people with diverse backgrounds in activities in close relation with the local community.

Objectives

In the middle of the volunteer’s echoes among the local community, following their traces, this activity is aimed at supporting youth workers, project coordinators and mentors in developing their competences to implement more inclusive ESC projects and better support the young people with fewer opportunities. More specifically :

Reflect on our position and vision as youth workers

• Raise awareness and sensitivity towards diversity, explore our own bias when working with young people

• Explore the understanding of “Inclusion” and “Diversity” in different national contexts

• Share needs and challenges related to the participation of young people with fewer opportunities

• Get inspiration to develop more inclusive learning activities

Experience practical activities in contact with the local community to better approach the volunteer’s position

Who can apply?

This activity is designed to involve people with experience in ESC projects management, who are
willing to develop more inclusive projects. More specifically :

• Youth workers, working in contact with ESC volunteers
• Mentors, tutors of ESC volunteers
