Validation Calling: Online seminar on the past, present and future of validation of learning in the youth field

Seminar

26-27 November 2020 | online activity, Türkiye

This is an international expert seminar for discussing the current situation as well as future perspectives related to the range of topics that have to do with the recognition and validation of the learning outcomes acquired in the youth field.

The Turkish National Agency and SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre cooperate to organize the expert seminar Validation Calling. The seminar takes place in the light of the new generation of the European youth programmes approaching; this sets a renewed framework for learning in these programmes, and for the implementation and development of Youthpass. At the same time, conclusions are being made about the results of the 2012 Recommendation on Validation of Non-formal and Informal Learning. The seminar aims to take stock of the development and situation related to recognition and validation of the learning outcomes from the youth field, and discuss ways how the youth field can contribute to further developments.

The elements of the seminar Validation Calling include:

  • Update about the trends and policies in relation to recognition and validation in the youth field (and beyond);
  • Stocktaking of achievements and challenges, and learning from inspiring practices and processes of validation in the youth field;
  • Exploring ways how to increase the stakeholder recognition of the validation tools and mechanisms developed in the youth field;
  • Contributing to the development of the Youthpass strategy in the next generation of the EU youth programmes;
  • Reflecting on ways and possible cooperation to move forward with validation related developments in the youth field.

The seminar aims to gather expert participants with interest to contribute to the future of the validation of learning (in the youth field). The variety of the possible profiles of the participants include:
