Partnership-building Activity

18-24 February 2013 | Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

This winter - a Training and Contact Seminar activity in the Canary Islands, Tenerife- most southern point of the EU -around EVS. Project has just been approved and we currently have some vacancies!!!!
Canary Islands EVS Challenge is a partnership building activity between organisations from different EU Countries, organised with a view to find new partners and work in the development of new EVS projects mainly around the topics of Environment and Health. A number of organisations, with 2 representatives each, will meet in Tenerife, Canary Islands, in Februray during 6 days, to work together in the conceptualization and development of innovative SVE projects mainly around environmental and holistic health topics. Participants will be guided by a coach and a facilitator by means of non-formal education methods, through a complete process which will enable them to work in international groups to visualize, design and write their own project proposals. The training will be complemented by a number of personal growth reflective activities. This will help them to fully integrate and make the most of the learning experience. Our aim is to promote the creation of an international network of organisations willing to work together as Coordinating, Sending and Hosting Organisationsin in order to maximize the benefits of EVS, by making it easier for future EVS candidates to be able to access new positions abroad. Through a number of outdoor activities and visits, participants will familiarise themselves with the geographical, social and economic aspects of the Canary Islands, opening up a whole new range of possibilities for those wanting to work together in future EVS projects including this most southern European territory. Main themes for this partnership building activity are Environment and Alternative Health. However, organizations with an interest, experience or willing to expand in future EVS projects into other areas from the following list are also welcome to apply: : Animal welfare, European Awareness, Rural development, Non discrimination, Arts and Culture, Education through sport and outdoor activities, Minorities, Equal opportunities, Non-discrimination based on sexual orientation and Development Cooperation All organisations are welcome to apply. However, organisations with previous experience as Hosting or Coordianting Organisations and those interested in mainly working around Environmental and Holistic Health will be prioritized.

INDICOT (Youth NGO)

INDICOT is an organisation working actively for the promotion of international values and to open international opportunities for residents in the Canary Islands. INDICOT is involved in the promotion of foreign language learning , Youth Exchanges with European countries and beyond, International Voluntary Work Schemes and other international activities.
INDICOT was set up with the idea of promoting the acquisitions, particuluarly amongst the youth, of skills and experiences which contribute to their development as XXI Century global citizens, which in turn would contribute to building a fairer, equality-oriented, respectful, diverse and rich society, full of opportunities for everyone´s personal and professional development.
We are very keen on Environmental issues, crazy about the Arts, Culture and self expression in all its forms, extremely conscious about the importance of health, naturally inclined towards a balanced rural-urban development, and against any kind of discrimination, particularly discrimination based on sexual orientation. We follow, defend and promote European consciousness and believe in the power of technology to make this world fairer and more accessible to others.

INDICOT´s regular activities are centered around Youth Exchanges, EVS actions, internationality-oriented local events and the dissemination/provision of information about work and training opportunities abroad.

We are proud to have YIA Programme as our guide and main programme, based on
the principle of creating new opportunities for personal growth and general broadening of horizons for
youngsters beyond their own local communities.
