True Essence. For Youth Workers Who Care.

Training Course

10-18 August 2023 | organic farm Metta, Slovenia

The project invites youth workers to join an intense 7 day explorative journey into their innermost essence, meeting their shadows to unfold their gifts and find new ways to genuinely support the young people they work with.

True Essence aims to open up a safe space for the authenticity, vulnerability and integrity of young people. A place to heal their roots and touch upon the best version of themselves. It offers a holistic, body-based and soul-oriented approach to youth work, thus strengthening the psychophysical health and well-being of young people, and encouraging them to find a meaningful role in creating our common reality.

We are looking forward to welcome people working with youth (youth workers, trainers, educators, volunteers, scout leaders, mental health professionals, movers, NGO leaders working with marginalized groups, youth, etc.) who wish to support their groups in a more embodied and holistic way.

Participants will:

• acquire experience and skills on how to create a safe and inclusive space;

• embark on a stunning journey of discovering the body's own resources and wisdom, and be encouraged to explore our body's emotional intelligence and use of somatic practices when working with youth;

• be inspired to express themselves through art and to use different artistic materials and their psycho-dynamic properties;

• be invited towards in-depth self-exploration, to meet and integrate their shadows and to better understand the mechanisms of the shadow;

• increase their level of empathy and resilience;

• be called towards greater sustainability both at interpersonal relations and in relation to nature;

• gain skills on how to support the young people in an effective and holistic way.

WORKING METHODS will include Re-birthing, Feldenkreis method, Way of Council, and some shadow/trauma work. With lots of expressive art, embodiment practices, movement and mindfulness to support the process. All in all, we will go deep. Most activities will take place outdoors.
