Seminar
30 March - 1 April 2026 | Rome, Italy
The concept of a European seminar stems from the interest in sharing with partners the results of the RAY COMP research conducted at national level and disseminated during a one-day seminar in November in Rome.
The aims are to identify similarities and specific challenges in supporting competence learning and development for youth workers, through training activities under the Erasmus+ Programme, and to share recommendations from the findings for the next Programme generation, contributing to the enhancement of youth work and the competences of youth workers.
Furthermore, the dissemination seminar aims to share and compare the RAY COMP findings, designed not just to transfer information, but also to explore effective dissemination practices at national and local levels, ensuring that the results have a broader impact.
Building on this, working with the European results could be even more enriching, helping to identify potential common work streams or inspiring approaches.
The aim of this dissemination seminar is to share and compare the RAY COMP findings, designed not just to transfer information, but to explore effective dissemination practices at national and local levels, ensuring that the results have a broader impact.
The one-and-a-half-day seminar is intended to learn from the research findings, compare data from different countries, and gather participants’ feedback on effective learning contexts, aligned with the needs of youth workers and the evolving demands of the youth sector.
Objectives
a. Share and compare RAY COMP results at national and European level
b. Provide space to compare results and discuss potential divergences
c. Validate research findings by exploring specific perspectives or topics in depth
d. Identify potential ways to disseminate results effectively
Target group:
Participants: 25, with 2–3 members from each target country/group
Activities (draft)

The methodology will be participatory, combining presentations with small-group work to foster discussion, reflection, and the exchange of experiences.

This event is organised by Agenzia Italiana per la Gioventu (Italian National Agency), one of the national partners within the RAY Network and the RAY COMP research.
The European RAY Coordination is supporting this event with possible resources.
The RAY Network (Research-based analysis of European youth programmes) is a self-governed European youth research network, currently involving 36 National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps programmes and their research partners (www.researchyouth.net). The European coordination of the network lies with the Finnish National Agency (RAY Network Coordination) and Youth Policy Labs (RAY Transnational Research Team).
The RAY COMP project examined competence development in youth work through training within the European Youth Programmes, with a focus on identifying areas for improvement. It explored different perspectives, including training providers’ rationales for developing training offers, youth workers’ perceptions of their professional needs, and trainers’ insights on delivering effective training. By analysing training strategies, frameworks, and stakeholder experiences across seven countries and at the European level, the project identified emerging needs, quality standards, and systemic improvements to enhance the relevance and effectiveness of training initiatives.
