Training for youth workers for an integrated approach on science and human rights

Training Course

5-11 November 2023 | Sinaia, Romania

This training course aims to develop the competencies of youth workers interested in science and human rights, by using innovative methods of non-formal education on how to integrate these two topics that at first sight have little or no connection.

Our aim is to promote an integrated approach of science and human rights education among youth workers, focusing on competence development of youth workers aged 18+  from the participating countries (Malta, Romania, Bulgaria).

The project will have a double impact:

  • 1) training of youth workers during the transnational learning activity in Romania;
  • 2) consolidating youth trainers' learning by applying the acquired competencies through organisation of educational activities for youth from their communities (A budget will be granted to each participant to cover the necessary expenses).

The program will include game-based learning, team work, role-playing and debate activities, recreational and socializing activities.

Profile of the participants (all conditions are mandatory):

  • Minimum 18 years old;
  • High proficienty in English;
  • Interest in science or/and human rights;
  • Motivation to take an active part in all workshops during the activity;
  • Commitment to conduct youth learning sessions in their community, within a 3 months after the training course (as mentioned above, a budget will be to cover the necessary expenses);
  • Commitment to promote the project during all phases via social media.

Participation is free of charge. The project covers the accommodation, meals and reimbursement of transport costs for all participants.

Through our project we would like to highlight the benefits of connecting knowledge from science and human rights in order to increase young people’s understanding and awareness on both topics, helping them become more responsible and motivated; be more civically involved and fight harder against injustice, inequality, non-inclusiveness.
