Training Course
8-13 March 2026 | Birštonas, Lithuania
"Today’s choices: Career UP" is an international training course designed for youth workers and professionals active in non-formal learning who support young people in their personal, educational, and career development.
The training responds to the growing uncertainty young people face when making career-related decisions in a fast-changing social and labour-market context. Career guidance is approached not as a one-time choice, but as a lifelong and evolving process, closely linked to self-understanding, values, competences, and external influences.
Over six days, participants explore how to provide modern, non-formal career guidance that is realistic, youth-centred, and empowering. The programme combines short theoretical inputs with a strong focus on experiential learning, reflection, peer exchange, and hands-on practice. Participants work with concrete methods they can directly transfer to their daily work with young people.
Key focus areas include:
The training is highly interactive and uses non-formal education methods such as reflection labs, group work, simulations, facilitation practice, and guided peer learning. Special attention is given to the role of youth workers as facilitators and supporters, rather than decision-makers, in young people’s career processes.
The course is specifically targeted at youth workers, educators, social workers, counsellors, youth project coordinators, and mentors of youth volunteers who work in non-formal settings and wish to strengthen their competences in career guidance. By the end of the training, participants leave with increased confidence, practical tools, and a clearer framework for supporting young people in building sustainable and flexible career pathways.
