INSIDE OUT – supporting young people through emotional challenges

"INSIDE OUT" is an international training course for youth workers and other professionals working with young people who want to strengthen their ability to address mental health, emotional well-being and emotional difficulties in youth work.

Young people may experience stress, anxiety, grief, emotional overload or other challenging situations, and people working with them are often among the first to notice that something has changed. During the training, participants will explore how to recognise signs of emotional distress, communicate supportively, build trust and create a safe environment for young people.

The training will also focus on creative and artistic methods that can help young people express emotions, as well as on understanding professional roles and boundaries and recognising when additional professional support may be needed.

Participant profile

The training is intended for youth workers, educators, social workers, counsellors, youth project coordinators and managers, volunteer coordinators and mentors, youth organisation leaders, community leaders and activists.

Participants should:

• be 23 years old or older;
• have at least 2 years of experience working with young people;
• be interested in mental health and emotional well-being in youth work;
• be able to communicate in English;
• participate in the full training course.

Practical information

Training dates: November 15–20, 2026
Location: Royal SPA Residence, Birštonas, Lithuania
Arrival for international participants: November 14, 2026
Arrival for Lithuanian participants: November 15, 2026, by 10:00 AM
Departure: November 20, 2026, after 2:00 PM

Accommodation is provided at Royal SPA Residence. Participants will stay in triple rooms, and access to the SPA area is available during free time outside the training programme.
