Training Course Cohesive Youth Work

Training Course

26-31 October 2026 | Austria

Join a two-phase Erasmus+ training in Tulln & Vienna to strengthen community cohesion through youth work. We welcome youth workers from Austria to gain practical tools, international experience, and design local impact projects.

Cohesive Youth Work – Austria

Cohesive Youth Work (CYW) is an Erasmus+ international training course designed for professionals and volunteers active in non-formal education and youth work. The project brings together participants from Austria, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia to explore how youth work can build trust, dialogue, participation, and community cohesion.

This is one complete learning journey, meaning selected participants commit to all project phases:

Phase 1 – Tulln an der Donau (26–31 October 2026)
Develop a strong understanding of community cohesion, conflict, power, inclusion, and dialogue through interactive non-formal learning methods, simulations, discussions, and peer exchange.

Integration Phase (November 2026 – February 2027)
Apply what you learn in your own community by identifying local needs and strengths, participating in online mentoring, and preparing your own community initiative.

Phase 2 – Vienna (22–27 February 2027)
Transform your ideas into action by learning participatory project design, stakeholder engagement, and practical tools to develop a local Cohesion Action for your community.

After the training, participants will implement a small local initiative that promotes dialogue, cooperation, and youth participation.

Who should apply?

We are looking for 5 participants who:

  • are 18+ and currently live in Austria or Slovakia ;
  • are actively involved in youth work or non-formal education (NGOs, youth centres, schools, municipalities, community initiatives, volunteering, etc.);
  • have a good command of English;
  • are motivated to participate in both training courses and implement a local follow-up activity.

We particularly encourage applications from youth workers, volunteers, educators, and community leaders from rural and smaller municipalities across Austria. Young people living outside large cities often face fewer opportunities for participation and community engagement, making your role especially valuable. Your local experience will enrich the international exchange, and the project will provide practical methods that can be directly transferred to your own community.

What you will gain:

  • Practical tools for dialogue facilitation and community-building.
  • New methods for participatory and non-formal education.
  • International networking with youth workers from six European countries.
  • Support to design and implement a local community initiative.
  • A Youthpass Certificate recognising your learning outcomes.
  • Participation, accommodation, meals, and eligible travel costs are covered through the Erasmus+ Programme.

If you are passionate about empowering young people and strengthening your local community, we encourage you to apply and become part of this international learning experience.
