Train the Trainer - Treehouse Camp Germany

Training Course

15-21 June 2026 | Michelstadt, Germany

Discover how treehouses become powerful learning spaces. In this hands-on training, you’ll learn to build safe, sustainable mobile treehouses while exploring their pedagogical value for group processes, learning, and community building.

Have you ever wondered what a treehouse has to do with educational work, and how you could use it with your own target group? Then this week is for you. Together with our Swedish partner, we will train facilitators, trainers, and youth workers to build mobile treehouses that are safe, sustainable, and powerful community projects.

The focus goes beyond the technical instructions and construction skills. We explore the pedagogical use and added value of treehouses for group processes, learning experiences, and community building. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to design and run your own treehouse projects in your local context.

Key elements of the training include treehouse construction techniques, knotwork, knowledge of regional regulations, group process facilitation, reflection methods, group dynamics, and safety management.

Our goals:

  • Develop Practical Outdoor & Treehouse-Building Skills: Learn how to safely plan and build a treehouse, work with tools, and apply nature-based activities in youth and young adult work.
  • Facilitate Personal Growth: Explore how experiential outdoor settings can support self-awareness, confidence, and individual development.
  • Strengthen Group Processes: Use cooperation, communication, and group-dynamic tools in a real construction project, gaining strategies to guide teams in natural environments.
  • Build Resilience: Experience how outdoor challenges, problem-solving, and shared responsibility help strengthen resilience and coping strategies.
  • Connect with Nature: Deepen appreciation for the natural environment and learn how to inspire ecological awareness and responsible engagement in your own groups.
