Tools for Youth Exchanges (TYE)

Training Course

14-19 September 2026 | Haraldsheim, Oslo, Norway

Tools for Youth Exchanges (TYE) is an engaging and practical training experience, where you can explore, test, collaborate and construct tools for building better youth exchange projects.

About the training

A Youth Exchange needs content — but behind the content are tools. TYE enables participants to explore, share, and adapt tools around group processes, learning, and involvement of young people, and how to facilitate these during a youth exchange.

Bring your current tools, half-finished ideas, and open questions—and get ready to take them apart, rebuild them, and make them stronger. Together, we will trade tools, explore and experience methods, and co-construct approaches that raise the quality of youth exchanges.

This is not about ready-made solutions. It’s about rolling up your sleeves, testing what you know, what works, fixing what doesn’t, and leaving with a toolbox that is richer, sharper, and ready for use.

Learning approach

The training is built on your past experiences and offers a non-formal learning setting, where doing, reflecting, giving feedback and reworking go hand in hand.

You will:

  • Open up your toolbox and share your practice
  • Try out tools in action, not just talk about them
  • Break down methods to understand how and why they work
  • Rebuild and adapt tools to fit your reality
  • Co-create new “prototypes” to try out in future youth exchanges

What can you expect to learn?

Lay strong foundations - Increase your awareness of group processes and experience tools that facilitate group development.

Design solid structures - Develop your competences in designing and facilitating learning in youth exchanges.

Use the right tools at the right time - Explore tools that support the learning process, including debriefing and recognition of learning.

Find the right building blocks  - Try out tools and models that promote intercultural learning, youth participation and dialogue.

Remodel your projects - Experience methodologies and approaches that can support you in realising a quality Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project

Build a toolbox you trust—and know how to use.
