TOGENDER - A Course on Gender Awareness and Building Inclusivity

1-5 July 2023 | Baku, Azerbaijan

The course will bring together professionals, experts, and practitioners from different parts of the world to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices on promoting gender equality and awareness among young people.

Kekalove Adaptive and Safe Routes are pleased to announce the " TOGENDER - a course on Gender Awareness and Building Inclusivity" which will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan from June 15th to 19th, 2023. The aim of this project is to increase gender awareness in activities with youngsters performed by social actors in Europe and third countries program.

The conference will bring together professionals, experts, and practitioners from around the world to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices for promoting gender equality and awareness among young people. The conference will be organized by Kekalove Adaptive and Safe Routes, a leading organizations promoting inclusivity and sustainable mobility in Europe and beyond.

Objectives

The specific objectives of the conference are:

  • To analyze the phenomenon of gender equality and awareness in local communities of the participants and compare them to the global level.
  • To create a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices for promoting gender equality and awareness among young people.
  • To increase the capacity of assessment and intervention on local and international levels.
  • To increase the sensitiveness in the psychological aspect and reflect on personal stories and stereotypes in our social environments.
  • To provide practical tools and insights into proactive methods, and exchange of good practices with non-formal education methods.
  • To equip participants with the knowledge and skills to design specific, gender-equality-related programs to increase success in international cooperation, networking, and advocating for gender equality.

Target Group

The conference is designed for social actors such as youth workers, teachers, facilitators, trainers, people working with youngsters, and the societies in which they live, including active citizens and socio-cultural animators. The conference is open to all interested individuals and organizations working on promoting gender equality and awareness among young people.

Kekalove Adaptive is a youth organization focused on women with disabilities based in Baku, Azerbaijan. For the last 4 years, the organization has worked on organizing disability fashion shows, numerous trainings and conferences, as well as monitoring accessibility. It’s by far one of the most inclusive youth organizations in wider Europe.

"Safe Routes" is an artificial intelligence-based social entrepreneurship start-up that aims to increase the safety of women and minorities during transportation. The initiative has a direct positive impact on the lives of women and other minority communities by protecting them from violence and sexual harassment. It achieves this by providing a software system that identifies and recommends the safest routes and modes of transportation. The system also incorporates real-time monitoring and reporting of any incidents of violence or harassment, thereby ensuring the safety of the users. "Safe Routes" is currently operating in both Azerbaijan and France.
