TOAST - Training Of (A) Senior Trainer in communication

�� WHAT IS THE MAIN MENU HERE?

We will join a 5-day programme where trainers from various parts of the world will meet to learn and co-share new communication methods.

We will learn through doing, using disruptive-education methods �� (and non-formal).

You will discover how to communicate with yourself, the person next to you and your community as a trainer.

It will happen by moving around, using art, presenting ideas in unusual spaces, building tools with kitchen utensils or cooking pierogi �� using your language…

You come back home with many ideas, multiple inspirations, a cool local partner to support you and a number of international friends in your field.

�� WHY WE DO THIS PROJECT?

“The single biggest problem in communication
is the illusion that it has taken place.”

And this is why we do this training. As trainers — we ask questions, explain concepts, translate challenging notions into lean language, write, inspire, listen, hold space, provide feedback, and facilitate group processes.

In all this: it is extremely useful to know communication techniques, tips and methods which can be used in youth work and training.

�� WHAT WILL YOU BRING BACK HOME?

This training will show you how to communicate effectively to reach our goals, engage new voices, increase audiences, unite people to our cause, and advocate for youth perspectives. And also:

• how to communicate effectively towards dialogue and peaceful coexistence;
• which communication theories can support your trainer work;
• how to manage group dynamics (groupthink, feedback and peak-end);
• how to use storytelling, public speaking, six-word-rule and framing effect;
• how other trainers communicate effectively (peer exchange space).

�� WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This training is for you if you want to improve your communication skills and you are youth or working with youth as:

• trainer, facilitator, peer educator;
• teacher;
• activist or youth worker with a multiplying role in your organisation.
