The Trainer’s Backpack: Tools, Values & Competences

Training Course

1-12 December 2025 | Online, Greece

Join us online for a training course that will help you explore the role of a trainer in non-formal education, engage with core tools and methods, and reflect on your competences using the ETS Competence Model.

The aim of this training course is to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the role and profile of a trainer in non-formal education (NFE) within the youth field. This TC will provide participants the opportunity to explore the principles of non-formal learning, including the values and attitudes and engage with the theoretical foundations and core methods of non-formal education, gaining deeper insight into the pedagogical approaches that shape learning in the youth field. The training will also address the distinctions between the roles of trainer, facilitator, leader, and mentor, helping participants clarify their role and responsibilities within a learning process.

  • To introduce and actively engage them with tools and methods used in non-formal learning
  • To explore the core principles of NFE and Erasmus+ and delve into the values underpinning the role of trainers in the youth field

  • To familiarize participants with the ETS Competence Model for Trainers and foster the further development of their competences as trainers
