The Edge Effect

Training Course

26 September - 4 October 2026 | The Green Place, Stefanovo, Bulgaria

What can permaculture teach us about working with people? Explore group dynamics as living ecosystems, discover facilitation through the lens of nature, and cultivate more resilient, participatory and sustainable communities.

What is The Edge Effect?

In ecology, the edge effect describes the place where two different ecosystems meet. These transition zones are often the richest and most diverse environments, where new relationships emerge and life flourishes.

We believe learning works in much the same way.

Growth often happens at the edges—where different cultures meet, where comfort zones are gently expanded, and where diverse experiences come together to create something new.

The Edge Effect is an Erasmus+ Training Course designed for youth workers, educators, facilitators and community leaders who want to explore regenerative approaches to learning, facilitation and community building.

Throughout the week, we will explore how nature can inspire educational practice, how communities can become powerful learning environments, and how non-formal education can help young people develop resilience, participation and a stronger connection with themselves, others and the natural world.

Rather than focusing only on theories, we will experiment, reflect and learn together through direct experience.

Our Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will:

• Explore regenerative and nature-inspired approaches to facilitation.

• Strengthen their confidence in designing meaningful learning experiences.

• Develop practical tools for community building and group facilitation.

• Experience non-formal education through immersive, participatory methods.

• Discover how reflection supports personal and professional growth.

• Exchange practices and ideas with participants from across Europe.

• Build lasting international connections for future cooperation.

Above all, we hope every participant leaves feeling inspired to bring new ideas, renewed energy and a deeper sense of purpose back to their own community.
