The Art of Development

Training Course

27 January - 4 February 2022 | Trakai, Lithuania

What is the training about? Improve the quality of how youth educators work: Using body movement as a tool for personal development and using the benefits of coaching to reflect, absorb and purify the information.

Training is for you, if you want to ...
- Experience self-development through body movement
- Learn how to use coaching methods for the reflection
- Develop professional skills as an youth worker and increase your efficiency, using body movement, art and theater

TC is based on sharing best practice and tools with youth educators to support them in developing their professional and personal skills which at the same time will address quality development for youth work.

Personal development in youth work is a philosophy that includes many methodologies in which educators purposefully engage with learners in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills and develop people's capacity to contribute to youth work in their communities. Youth educators as well as the learners find an opportunity to explore and examine their own values, prepare for important life choices through the process of learning and self-exploration. It can also help the learners to explore their strengths and weaknesses, by experiencing success, failure, adventure, risk-taking and uncertainty: everything in a secure facilitated process. Furthermore, to help them to gain self-confidence in making decisions and be accountable for the results.

In this project "The Art of Development" we concentrate on the self-development through body movement combined with coaching methods as a tool for reflection. Tools shared with participant during the TC will be new and innovative approaches which help youth educators to have better outcome while working with their target group.

We are aiming to improve the quality of how youth educators work: using body movement as a tool for personal development and using the benefits of coaching to reflect, absorb and purify the information.

The objectives that will help to reach the aim are:

- Experience self-development through body movement

- Learn how to use coaching methods for the reflection

- Develop professional skills as an youth worker and increase your efficiency, using body movement art and theater

The results of the project will be:

Organisation has been actively involved in local and international projects with Erasmus+ programme. Since the opening of the organisation in January 2015, we co-organised more than 65 youth exchanges and training courses and out of the total number have successfully implemented more than 10 KA1 Erasmus+ projects as an applicant organization. From 2020, September we are actively involved in three KA2 Strategic Partnership projects.

We do it by organizing trainings, workshops, sessions using non-formal education methods. We organize local activities for and/or with High Schools, local NGO'S, Youth Centers, etc.
