The Finnish youth field comes together every year for Youth Work Days. The venue of in 2018 is The Allianssi cruise. The National Agency actively participates to these days, which are organised by Allianssi, the national youth council of Finland and a service and advocacy organisation in the field of youth work.

The Allianssi Cruise is two-day programmed conference which consists of a wide variety of current topics in youth work. It gathers about 1400 youth work professionals (Finnish youth workers, researchers and policy-makers) to a cruise boat to discuss, evaluate, innovate and develop their work among young people.

Allianssi Cruise 2018 will also have programme in English (https://www.allianssiristeily.fi/en), enabling the European partner organisations to learn more about the Finnish youth work, to compare European realities, share and transfer good practices, discuss experiences and network with European peers. The cruise also offers a possibility to deepen co-operation between partners and develop new projects ideas.

The English programme will include updates on current European processes in the youth field. Perspectives to other European topics, such as hate speech, young people’s participation, social inclusion, etc. will be discussed in workshops. The detailed programme of the Allianssi Cruise will be published by January 2018.

In this context it is possible to extend the cruise programme to include field visits to get acquainted with some Finnish youth work practice ashore before the cruise.

This activity is organised by the TCA 18 budget and it is a part of Europe Goes Local Project.
