#TCP - Towards collaborative practice - Study visit with contact making activities on youth entrepreneurship and social innovation in Israel

Study Visit

11-15 March 2018 | Jerusalem , Israel

This study visit is a unique opportunity to discover how Israel is offering space and chances to be a social entrepreneur and how Erasmus+ can support social and youth entrepreneurship.
The study visit is organized in the framework of the “Towards Collaborative Practice” (TCP) project on social entrepreneurship and Erasmus+. The other TCP events were the TCP Forums on Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship held in Malmö, Sweden (2015), Lecce, Italy (2016) and the Social Entrepreneurship Study Visit in Bristol, UK (2017). Another event, the TCP Forum: Social Entrepreneurship, Youth and Vocational Education, will also be organized in Liverpool, UK (March 2018). The study visit is intended to enable, equip and inspire young people and professionals to discover what it is to embark on social entrepreneurship by visiting various social enterprises and social entrepreneurship support structures in Jerusalem. Jerusalem, the largest and most diverse city in Israel, hosts a unique and vibrant community of social entrepreneurs working for the betterment of the society and the environment. In recent years, Jerusalem has undergone a renewal driven by grassroots forces of activism and social change, which have repositioned the city as a center of innovation and youth entrepreneurship. This study visit will explore how social enterprises can become established as promoters of innovation and growth for society. It will also facilitate partnerships, create a network of social entrepreneurs and share practices and realities among the diverse social and youth entrepreneurs from Europe and Israel. A specific focus will be given to the involvement of youngsters with fewer opportunities. Aims/objectives: - Look at different ways that Israeli social enterprises and social innovators have achieved innovation and growth whilst ensuring sustainability; - Share experiences, tools, methods and challenges with peers across Europe and Israel; - Give you the tools and information on how Erasmus+ funding can support social and youth entrepreneurship projects. We are looking for 25 participants, young people and professionals, who either: 1) Have opened or plan to open (within the next year) their own social enterprise; 2) Currently or plan to (within the next year) work at a social enterprise; and / or 3) Currently or plan to (within the next year) conduct activities/projects on social and youth entrepreneurship.
