TC WINTER 27 - Adventure and Experiential Learning for Personal Growth & Wellbeing

Training Course

22-26 February 2027 | Soriano nel Cimino, Italy

An immersive winter training for youth workers exploring adventure and experiential learning as tools for personal growth, wellbeing and more meaningful work with young people through outdoor challenges, reflection and shared learning.

TC WINTER 27 – Adventure and Experiential Learning for Personal Growth & Wellbeing is an immersive training course for youth workers, trainers, facilitators and educators interested in exploring how adventure, nature and experiential learning can support personal development and wellbeing.

The training is built around a simple principle: experience becomes learning when we create the space to reflect on it, give it meaning and connect it with our everyday life and professional practice.

Throughout the programme, participants will be actively involved in outdoor activities, individual and group challenges, reflective practices and facilitated learning processes. The experiences will engage the physical, emotional, cognitive and relational dimensions of learning, inviting participants not only to learn new methods, but also to observe themselves within the learning process.

The course will explore how adventure and experiential learning can help people develop greater self-awareness, confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, connection with others and a stronger sense of personal wellbeing.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • experience adventure and outdoor experiential learning first-hand;
  • explore the relationship between experience, reflection and personal growth;
  • develop greater awareness of their own resources, limits and learning patterns;
  • understand how nature and adventure can contribute to wellbeing and meaningful learning;
  • explore facilitation and reflective practices that help transform an experience into learning;
  • exchange practices and perspectives with youth workers and educators from different European contexts;
  • reflect on how these approaches can be transferred into their own work with young people.

The methodology will be highly experiential and participatory. Rather than focusing mainly on lectures or theoretical inputs, participants will learn through direct experience, observation, reflection, dialogue and experimentation.

The programme may include physically and emotionally challenging activities. Participants should therefore be prepared to spend significant time outdoors, engage actively in the programme and step beyond their usual routines and comfort zones. No specific outdoor or sporting experience is required, but motivation, curiosity and willingness to participate fully are essential.

TC WINTER 27 is not only a collection of methods to take home. It is designed as a learning journey in which participants can experience for themselves the processes they may later facilitate with young people: facing uncertainty, recognising personal resources, relating authentically with others, reflecting on experience and transforming challenges into opportunities for growth.

Organiser:

Kamaleonte (Youth NGO)

Kamaleonte is an Italian organisation working in the fields of experiential learning, outdoor education, personal development and wellbeing.

Since 2004, Kamaleonte has been designing and implementing educational programmes for young people, youth workers, educators, trainers, teachers and organisations, using experience, adventure, nature and reflective practice as key elements of learning and development.

Our approach is based on the idea that meaningful learning involves the whole person. Experiences are therefore designed to engage physical, emotional, cognitive and relational dimensions, creating opportunities for participants to explore themselves, their relationships with others and the way they respond to challenges.

Kamaleonte works nationally and internationally through Erasmus+ projects, training courses, youth exchanges and professional development programmes. Its activities combine experiential education, non-formal learning, outdoor education, group dynamics, reflective practice and approaches inspired by Adventure Therapy.

A central element of Kamaleonte's work is the connection between experience and reflection: adventure is not considered an objective in itself, but a context through which individuals and groups can develop awareness, competences, resilience, meaningful relationships and wellbeing.
