TC Diving into… Youth Participation

The course gathers youth leaders and youth workers from across Europe to strengthen their competences, exchange experiences, and reflect on how to embed youth participation throughout all phases of a project or initiative. It also provides an opportunity to explore the Erasmus+ Key Action 154 “Youth Participation Activities,” which supports local, national, and transnational projects aimed at encouraging young people’s active involvement in democratic life.

Promoting young people’s civic and democratic engagement is a cornerstone of the European Youth Strategy and a vital element in ensuring the development of Europe’s political processes. For this reason, youth participation and active citizenship are highlighted as priorities in youth policy frameworks across Europe.

The overarching goal of TC Diving into… Youth Participation is to contribute to the quality development of youth participation projects. By creating a collaborative space for youth leaders and workers, the training encourages the building of partnerships, the sharing of practices, and the creation of joint initiatives based on local needs. Adding a European dimension to these efforts allows participants to seek common solutions, connect diverse perspectives, and move forward together.

Objectives

• Strengthen the understanding of youth participation.
• Provide participants with essential knowledge about Youth Participation Activities (Key Action 1 - KA154)
• Strengthen cross-border cooperation, building a network to foster partnerships and joint projects on topics or social causes based on local contexts. 

The call is open for people who:

• represent a youth organisation, an informal group of young people, a municipality or a youth service / centre willing to take a role of an applicant or partner in the Erasmus+ Programme;
• are interested in developing projects within Erasmus+ Key Action 154 “Youth Participation Activities” (no prior experience is required);
• have identified issues relevant for young people in their community they would like to address with European partners;
• have some experience with managing projects (not necessarily within E+ frameworks) and with youth participation or civic engagement;
• are capable of communicating effectively in English;
• are at least 18 years old.
