"SUSTAINOPRENEURSHIP – THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL"

Training Course

10-18 April 2014 | Bitola, Republic of North Macedonia

''Sustainopreneurship – Think Global, Act Local'' is aimed at supporting the fight against youth unemployment sustainably and solving various social problems in order to achieve a more inclusive and sustainable growth in the local society.
Considering the relation of unemployment to other social processes and the effects it can have on society as a whole, sustainable entrepreneurship education can offer a solution: while business entrepreneurs typically measure performance in profit and return, sustainopreneurs consider their community as a foundation for all actions, keeping in mind that the process of their business development is closely tied to the process of community development thus creating social capital. With this in mind, the planned TC will have a connecting role, fighting youth unemployment on one side and on the other side solving various social problems in order to achieve a more inclusive and sustainable growth in the local community. The aim of the TC is to gather youth workers, staff from youth centers as well as youth representatives from business incubators to gain new knowledge and skills in the fields of sustainable development, entrepreneurship education and empowerment of youth and develop strategies in fostering creative, independent and non-traditional ways of thinking and acting in their local environments. To reach its goals, the TC will focus on: - capacity building of young people involved, as a kind of foundation for the activities to come; - sustainable development, its fundamentals, current strategies and trends and best practice examples - entrepreneurship skills and their development. All this is creating a framework of necessary knowledge and skills needed for development of future ideas and projects which will be implemented in the follow-up activities, creating long-term impact and strengthening the results of the TC as contributing to young people’s spirit of initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship.

Organiser:

Association 615 (Youth NGO)

Association 615 is a source of ideas and creativity; it is about young people effectively and efficiently using their free time, leaving a trace of their existence. We reach towards our primary objective by organizing cultural and artistic events on alternative locations with minimal conditions (abandoned factories, underground garages, rural areas). The aim of our events is to reanimate abandoned spaces and give another dimension to those spaces, for young people and their cultural life. In the process young people on voluntary bases clean, repair, paint and enable them to be used by young people. Places in urban areas are cleaned, planted with new grass, trees and flowers .In the process we exchange ideas and experience, which contributes to the critical moment needed for realization of the creativity and healthy critical thinking. Our organization is not for profit, all our events are organized with resources that are available to us: our will, our creativity and our time.
