Study Visit on Inclusion

Study Visit

4-7 March 2024 | Danhostel Ishøj, Denmark

The study visit will provide a possibility for organisations working with young people with fewer opportunies to get together and exchange and discuss practices and experiences with inclusion and diversity within The European Solidarity Corps.

The study visit aims at providing a platform for sharing how The European Solidarity Corps can contribute to inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and how organisations can start to consider inclusion not as hurdle, but as tool on creating informal learning that is valuable for the organisations themselves.

The participants will partly visit local organizations, as well as explore and exchange best practice youth involvement and youth work practices on inclusion, networking activities, and discussions on social inclusion and diversity.

The study visit will have a special focus on organisations working with young people with fewer opportunities and socially marginalised youth.

Learning objectives of the activity are:

  • To raise knowledge and gain new experiences on ESC volunteering projects.
  • Have a better understanding of inclusive practice in general, and in the context of ESC;
  • Consider inclusion and diversity as a mainstream in a project, and not just another box to be ticked;
  • To raise awareness on how ESC projects are tools for inclusion and community-building.

Profiles of the participants:

  • Active organisations within the European Solidarity Corps
  • Organisations with experience with volunteering projects
  • Organisations working with inclusion both as subject, but also with participants (volunteers) in the programme
  • Ready to share and exchange their own experiences on working with inclusion.
