Spring of Democracy - Tools for Active Youth Participation

Training Course

7-14 June 2014 | Frankfurt (Oder), Germany

The Training Course will provide the participants new ways of organizing and planning their own work in the organisation, with tools and knowledge to better tackle these issues and to make the effect of the work with young people more sustainable.
Context of this Training Course: The Training Course will provide the participants new ways of organizing and planning their own work in the organisation. Following our Seminar in 2013, where the participants discussed about different concepts of democracy and reflected about obstacles in decision-making processes and how young people can overcome them, this training course will now provide the participants with tools and knowledge to better tackle these issues and to make the effect of the work with young people more sustainable. The OUR School Method: In this TC we will learn the OUR School Method which helps achieve sustainable lasting change in perception, conceptualization and action, by provoking people’s thoughts and emotions. We will learn how to use OUR School’s multi-layered, indirect communications model to make our message easier for people to understand, absorb and implement, while maintaining its complexity – allowing us to address our full range of values and our mission as a whole, in a manner which respects the nuances inherent in each element of it. By doing this, we will have our projects and activities reflect fully our ideological identity – giving us the added value of making them uniquely our own. The Training will be delivered by the very people who have developed the Method and have been implementing it – very successfully - for over a decade. Who is this course for? Leaders, trainers and anyone working with young people on promoting participation and democracy, and who have the ability to introduce change in their organizations and their work. OUR School Method is something that anyone can master. However, it will not make our lives as leaders\trainers\etc easier. At least not at first. In fact – when we will start implementing the Method in our projects, it will require a lot of effort and adjustment. However, as is the case with a lot of things – after some practice, it will become a more natural part of the way we think about our work and the methods that we use. Effectiveness, however, will be evident even in first stages." Like most other skills – once it’s fully mastered and when followed carefully, the OUR School Method actually allows us far greater room for improvisation. Moreover, our highly qualified trainers will offer coaching and support for implementation of follow-up projects, to insure better assimilation of the learning outcomes. Who is this course for?! The Training will be delivered by the very people who have developed the Method and have been implementing it – very successfully - for over a decade.
