The overall objective of this project is to promote the development of sustainable youth sport network and exchange of best practices by using gender traditional sport as a catalyst for transmitting life skills to children and youth.
The "STAGE" project - /Sport and Gender: Empowering Girls and Women/ will end with an evaluation seminar in order to collect suggestion and ideas developed on the theme of the project. The methodological instruments designed during the entire duration of the project will be gathered in a technical publication regarding the theme of the gender traditional sport as an educational tool/context. The objective of the event is to acquire relevant competencies for the employment of gender traditional sport in the non formal education context. The overall objective of this project is to promote the development of sustainable youth sport network and exchange of best practices by using gender traditional sport as a catalyst for transmitting life skills to children and youth in order to reduce violence and other social ills. The children can get off the streets, learn about rules and fair-play and practice conflict resolution without violence. Highlighted the topics above, the Specific objectives are: • Increase the opportunities for women to approach the traditional sports • Develop the heritage of European traditional sports and their declination at female level • Favor the best practice to promote traditional games in gender dimension at international level • Explore the more responsive needs to women's life skills inside traditional sport and their educational followings • Share topics connected to women, sport, environment, education and cultural heritage. Specific objective: Opening Meeting in Bulgaria; making of the work group in each partner city and individuation of the local facilities. This project seeks to create 5 “Intercultural Youth Sport Groups” (IYSG) in each partner’s location. The aim of these panels would be to discuss the potentials and difficulties of belonging to a culturally diverse community by using gender traditional sport. These groups would have to promote awareness-raising about effective ways of promoting sport at municipal level.The sports having similar rules, environment and/or skills will be object of comparisons between couple of partners at international level. (For example ball sports or sail/oar sports etc. Moreover, this will be the first occasion to support health promotion with a special focus on awareness-raising sport campaign about effective ways of promoting sport at a municipal level. Among the activities we foresee: - Participation to local sport events; - Multidisciplinary workshops; - Sport workshops; - Discussions and debates; - Panels with local sport teams; - Workshops on intercultural activities.

Costs

There is no fee charged for participation. Accommodation, visa costs and meal are 100 % covered by organizers.Travel costs will be 50 % reimbursed. Maximum reimbursement is fixed for one participant's travel cost only!
