#SocialMedia for Youth Employment is a Training Course focused on promoting youth employment through the use of social media tools, by introducing contemporary methods for job hunting.
Overall Aim of the Project: #SocialMedia for Youth Employment Training Course, aims to find effective and sustainable solutions on one of the most prevalent issues of the decade, which is youth unemployment. Through this training course the participants will cooperate in order to find sustainable solutions for youth unemployment and at the same time to learn how to use social media tools effectively in order to enhance their employability. Social Media can be a very powerful tool when it comes to job seeking, personal and professional development and putting ideas into action through online funding opportunities. Therefore, this training course aims to foster the usage of Social Media as a tool for improving the professional life of the participants. Main objectives of the project: • To define the effect youth unemployment has on young people’s lives and to what extent youth unemployment affects society. • To define the role of youth employment in the economic development of a country. • To find solutions towards youth unemployment. • To define what is social media and social media tools. • To introduce social media tools related to youth employment. • To introduce social media as a tool for increasing youth employability. Who can participate? •Participants must be 18 years old and above. •Participants must be able to communicate in English.

MENTOR is an informal group of young people based in Tekirdağ, Turkey. The group has been active since 2011 and consists of 26 young people from all over the Trakya region of Turkey. The group was founded in 2011 by two young people who as graduates of Human Resource Management and Psychology, decided to put their experience and knowledge into action in order to assist the youth of their region and especially disadvantaged youth, such as the Roma Community which is quite large in the Trakya region, with enhancing their employability skills, hence reducing youth unemployment and improving the quality of life of the local youngsters.

The main activities of MENTOR are:

- Consulting to young people on how to apply for jobs.
- Career counselling.
- Workshops and seminars on interviews.
- Workshops on social media tools for employability.
- Consulting on educational opportunities for young people.
- Consulting on how to obtain scholarships and bursaries.
- Soft skills workshops (presentation, public speaking etc.)

Costs

Food and accommodation will be provided and paid by the organizers. Travel costs of the participants will be reimbursed by bank transfer after the course, based on the travel distance per participant in accordance to the new rules of the Erasmus+ Programme as follows: Bulgaria: €180 Croatia: €275 Czech Republic: €275 Greece: €275 Romania: €275 Malta: €275 Poland: €275 There will be a €30 participation fee. Travel costs means all costs (including visa costs) to get from the participants’ home to the project venue and back to home. The participants will have to bring with them all of their original tickets, receipts and boarding passes and copies of their travel documents (passports, identity cards) as we will collect all of them at the end of the training course. In addition participants are required to send us all of their original return tickets, receipts and boarding passes within 1 week of their departure from the training course otherwise we will not be able to refund them.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
