Social Start-up weekend "ChangeMakers'ON"

Partnership-building Activity

24-26 February 2017 | Kaunas, Lithuania

International Social Entrepreneurship enabling Startup Weekend “ChangeMakers’ON”
Kaunas city will host an International Social Entrepreneurship enabling Startup Weekend “ChangeMakers’ON”, a unique event in Lithuania. Social Entrepreneurship is not a new notion, and yet in Lithuania the Social Entrepreneurship conception was approved not so long ago, just in 2015. The conception’s approval inspired dozens of new discussion, debates and forums, all of them working towards creating better tools for Social Entrepreneurs. From the very begging of our existence, European Social Entrepreneurship and Innovative studies Institute has been enabling and empowering Social Entrepreneurship in Lithuania and abroad. With our extensive experience, we decided to help young challenge and approval thirsty adults to create impact, feel safe and fulfil their dreams. “ChangeMakers’ON” event is the very first of its kind in Lithuania. It is not only an event – it’s also a movement which was created to empower young and initiative citizens to create social good and innovations. It is the very first Startup Weekend focused on Social Entrepreneurship and we hope to become an annual event, creating a path to social change. During the international intense one weekend event, the youth will create Social business models that are based on social innovations and changes. Climate change, health, ageing society, pollution, social inequality – these are only a few of the problems the participants will tackle. The participants will be consulted by experienced mentors-experts who are professional entrepreneurs who have an international experience. The main goal of “ChangeMakers‘ON” is to create a social business from an idea to a commercially successful social business model in one weekend. Our Social Entrepreneurship enabling mission already has a partner. „Bridge for Billions“ is an online incubator for early-stage ventures. They are enablers of progress and agents for change. Bridge for Billions was founded on this simple statement in 2013 at Carnegie Mellon University. The platform provides mentorship and tools for startups from anywhere around the world. They are ready to share their knowledge and techniques with the participants of “ChangeMakers‘ON“: 3 teams will get a 3 months startup mentoring program for free. This way we can guarantee that the ideas developed during the “ChangeMakers‘ON“ will have the means to become a reality and improve our lives, even if only a little. Our ambition is to make “ChangeMakers‘ON“ an annual event and this way contribute to creating social innovations and promoting Social Entrepreneurship business model in Europe. Preferable countries are Baltics and Nordic region. Places are limited. If you have a social innovation idea -don't waste your time and apply now.
