Conference – Symposium - Forum

3-6 July 2025 | Spello, Italy

#SHU2025 envisages a four-day Hackathon, Workshops, Exhibitions and Laboratories, from 3 to 6 July 2025 in the splendid setting of the "flowery" village of Spello, a perfect synthesis of good living typical of the Umbria Region.

More than 300 participants from all over the world will share their views on three thematic areas related to diversity:

  • BIO–diversity | Propose a digital solution that favours the protection, restoration and promotion of the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainable forest management, combating desertification and land degradation, and halting the loss of biodiversity.
  • NEURO-diversity | Propose a digital solution that promotes inclusivity and exploits the unique strengths of neurominorities, for greater awareness and support for mental health, adapting different learning styles, promoting decent work and economic growth.
  • SOCIO-diversity | Propose a digital solution that supports the creation of a global community in which individuals of different ethnicities, religious beliefs, socio-economic status, language, gender and/or sexual orientation can enhance their diverse knowledge, backgrounds, experiences and interests.

It is possible to participate in the event in different ways:

  • Do you have an idea or a solution to one of the three thematic challenges of SHU2025?
The hackathon is the main event of SHU2025 and will see teams of 8-10 participants, coordinated by an expert mentor, confront each other through the co-creation of any type of digital service or product (e.g. Apps, Web Portals, Digital Games, etc.).
Propose your project by Friday 16 May! More information and link to the online form at https://www.socialhackathonumbria.info/en/live-the-challenge/
  • Do you represent a school or a youth organisation?
Participate in the SHU Young Makers Event, the first STEAM competition for the New European Bauhaus, and help create a sustainable and inclusive future that is also beautiful to the eyes, minds and souls!
Register a team of at least 5 young people aged 11 to 19 by Friday 16 May. More information and link to the online form at: https://www.socialhackathonumbria.info/en/take-part-in-the-shu-young-makers-event/
  • Are you actively involved in one of the three dimensions of diversity listed above?
Propose a workshop, a performance or exhibit at one of the stands of the D-Village, the main side-event of SHU2025. The village will be organised within the historical village of Spello and will include a rich programme open to the public free of charge, with activities focusing on the inclusive themes of NEURO and SOCIO diversity, as well as an expo area dedicated to the enhancement of BIO diversity.
