Skillshop

Training Course

23-30 April 2022 | Alsótold, Hungary

The aim of our project is to create space for youth workers to learn new skills of communication, leadership and other soft skills, to challenge and develop themselves and to enable them to apply new tools and methods in their work.

Based on research studies confidence comes from feelings of well-being, acceptance of your body and mind, and belief in your own abilities, skills and experience. Self-confidence can be learned, practiced and mastered - just like any other skills. The aim of our project is to create space for youth workers and young trainers to improve their willingness to unfold and learn new skills of communication, leadership and other soft skills, to challenge themselves and to enable them to apply new tools and methods to share this knowledge with the target groups they work with.

We will dig into the importance of being aware of our abilities and skills, and how this can have an impact in groups and how group leaders and youth workers can use it in order to foster their young people to acknowledge their own achievements.

'Skillshop' is a 7 days long international Training Course that will take place in Alsótold, Hungary with the participation of youth workers from 7 countries. During the program we will use differenty types of non-formal educational methods focusing on learning by doing - involving methods such as creative recycling, meditation, mindfulness and communication practices.

Some of the main program elements:

  • skill development workshops using art and design
  • outdoor activities
  • improving competences through awareness and communication practices
  • meditation
  • yoga, dance mandala

Participation is open for people working on the youth field who are over 18 years old - youth workers, trainers, mentors, volunteers, educators. We are looking for participants who are open to learn new techniques such as creative recycling and who are ready to develop themselves through meditation, art and design.
