Leaders of Tomorrow (Youth NGO)

“Leaders of Tomorrow” is a group of young people, mainly consisting of students and Teaching Assistants of Duzce University, as well as youth workers and professionals that was established in 2012. Even though Duzce, due to its geographical location between Istanbul and Ankara, is a highly industrial city with many employment opportunities, young people experience many difficulties in securing employment, due to their lack of practical skills. Leaders of Tomorrow’s founders decided to take an active role in resolving this issue and therefore established this group in order to enhance the employability of the young people in the city.

Since its establishment, the group has grown to 36 members, all of which are living in Duzce, but are coming from many different cities in Turkey.

Leaders of Tomorrow’s main aims are to provide to unemployed young people, as well as to University and high school students of Duzce the skills and experience necessary in order to find suitable employment in the future. Our main activities are focused on giving seminars and trainings to young people, as well as free consulting and career advice from experts, ensuring that they are fully prepared for their future career, whatever that may be. Furthermore, teaching assistants of Duzce University are providing free English courses to young people, in order to enhance their language skills.

Our mission is to reduce the youth unemployment rate in the city of Duzce and we have been very successful in our efforts, since over 40 young people who have attended our events or received specialised training from us have secured employment over the past two years and we hope that through our hard work and motivation many more young people will benefit in the future.
