Skilled to Engage

Seminar

12-16 October 2026 | Malta

This TCA explores the role of youth work in building a resilient, democratic, and prepared society within the EU’s “Union of Skills” ambition.

Within the EU’s “Union of Skills” ambition, there is a growing need to strengthen not only technical and digital skills, but also the transversal competencies that support a resilient, democratic, and prepared society. Rooted in participation, empowerment, and social inclusion, youth work plays a key role in equipping young people with the skills and attitudes needed to engage meaningfully in society, especially during times of crisis and change.

Objectives:

Explore the contribution of youth work to skills development within the framework of the Union of Skills.
Share practices on building youth resilience, democratic engagement, and preparedness (e.g. climate change, disinformation, mental health).
Facilitate dialogue between youth work and formal education.
Develop ideas for future Erasmus+ cooperation projects and policy recommendations
