Street Work is about engaging young people where they choose to meet and is about empowering them within their community. The aim of the activity is to bring youth workers working in the field and to introduce them the examples of Street Work in Turkey.
Street Work has been around for many decades and is all about engaging young people where they choose to meet and working with them to an agreed outcome and is about empowering and supporting young people within their community. The aim of the activity is to bring youth workers working in the field of Street Work, to exchange good practices from their respective countries and to introduce them the examples of Street Work in Turkey. OBJECTIVES: - To provide detailed information on the concept of Street Work and its implementations in Turkey and across Europe - To provide space for new partnerships on Street Work among youth workers - To introduce basic principles of quality Street Work and to help youth workers gain basic competences to implement quality Street Work in their respective countries - To introduce how Street Work is conducted in Turkey METHODOLOGY: The training course will follow the non-formal education approach, and thus will be designed as an open learning process based on participants’ experience and exchange. A combination of different creative and interactive methods will be used and designed upon the profile of participants. Lastly, the study visit will be mainly built on institutional visits to wide range of NGOs etc. actively working for disadvantaged young people institutionally rather than detached youth work as it is not a very well established concept in Turkey. ***NOTE: The short study visit will start in the evening of April 27th with the arrival of participants during the day and all participants will departure on May 2nd.

This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
