Partnership-building Activity

15-22 May 2016 | Kysak, Slovak Republic

8 days of networking and peer-learning in a group of LGBTQ youth activists with diverse experience in the Slovak Republic. 3 people per country. Fun, learning and unicorns. Get inspired and share your own experience, expand your visions and networks.
Our contact-making activity was designed to bring together LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) youth workers, youth organisations and initiatives from all over the Europe. For eight days, participants will learn about each other’s organisation, explore possibilities for cooperation and think about future projects. Because their home organisations vary greatly in size, age and scope, sharing of experience and best practice will be easy. Participants will be involved in presentations, discussions, ideas generating activities, all with the aim to create strong bonds for future projects. 32 participants from the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Germany, Romania, Belgium, Greece and Bulgaria will spend the week in the beautiful nature getting to know each other and planning a better future for their organisations and LGBTQ youth they serve and build foundations for better future of LGBTQ youth in Europe. Saplinq (Youth NGO)

Saplinq has the objective to teach and develop LGBTQ youth leaders, to lead them to take responsibility for their lives. Saplinq supports creation of local LGBTQ communities through innovative leadership and personal commitment. Saplinq provides training and support to future LGBTQ youth leaders.

Saplinq is a Slovak NGO, established in April 2012 with the aim to develop young LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) leaders and LGBTQ youth communities. We organize workshops and discussions for young people on topics related to LGBTQ identity, both trying to educate broader public and creating community spaces for LGBTQ youth. To achieve the latter goal, Saplinq established in May 2012 a LGBTQ youth support and community group in Bratislava called Freeq.

Apart from that, we focus on organizing outside the capital and in September 2013 we held the very first Pride parade for the rights of LGBTQ people in Košice, PRIDE Rainbow Košice.
