Self-care for non-formal educators

Training Course

23-28 August 2026 | Estonia & Slovenia, Estonia

You support others every day. But where do you reset? This programme supports educators to stay well in demanding roles and to shape healthier team environments. In Estonia, you focus on yourself. In Slovenia, you bring that awareness into your team.

You support others every day. But where do you reset?

This programme supports youth workers, facilitators, and educators to stay well in demanding roles and to shape healthier team environments.

In Estonia, you focus on yourself. You explore your rhythms, boundaries, roles, and capacity. You learn how to notice what is yours and what is not, and how to take care of yourself in practice.

In Slovenia, you bring that awareness into your team. You work with team dynamics, roles, and responsibility. You explore how to create safer, more sustainable ways of working together.

Together, the two trainings move from personal awareness to team and system change.

The programme combines:

  • somatic (body-based) awareness
  • reflective practices
  • experiential learning with real cases
  • systemic and team-based approaches

TRAINING DATES

Training 1 (Estonia)
23–28 August 2026
Self-care, resilience, and personal sustainability

Training 2 (Slovenia)
25–30 October 2026
Team dynamics, safe space, and organisational wellbeing

  • feel the impact of their work and want to stay well while doing it
  • want to strengthen both personal resilience and team leadership

LANGUAGE

The whole programme will be held in English.

You do not need perfect English, but you should feel comfortable enough to take part in group discussions, share your thoughts, and work in small groups.

PARTICIPATION & GROUP

The programme is designed as one learning journey.

It is possible to join only one of the trainings. However, if selection is needed, priority will be given to participants who commit to both trainings.

Group size: 20–25 participants

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM PARTICIPANTS

  • willingness to reflect on your own practice
  • openness to share and listen
  • readiness to engage in experiential methods
  • commitment to the full programme

If selected, participants are expected to:

  • organise their own travel
  • send travel tickets by the agreed deadline (end of June)
  • respect communication and organisational timelines

Registration is binding. Cancellation is only possible with a doctor’s certificate.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To support youth workers and facilitators to stay well in their roles and to create healthier, more sustainable team environments.

HOW WE WORK

We keep the process grounded and practical. You will work with real situations from your own context.  You will not only talk about self-care but you will practice it.

The trainings are built on:

1. Safety in practice

co-created agreements

clear boundaries

facilitator transparency

2. A balanced learning process

body awareness (what do you feel and notice?)

frameworks (what helps you understand it?)

experience (what happens in real situations?)

reflection (what do you take from it?)

3. Simple tools

reflection groups

visual mapping

embodied exercises

peer support methods

WHAT YOU WILL TAKE WITH YOU

Estonia – Self & Resilience

You will:

  • notice your personal rhythms and limits
  • clarify your needs and boundaries
  • recognise what is yours and what belongs to others
  • strengthen your ability to protect your energy
  • understand your role and how you step into it
  • create a simple, realistic action plan for yourself

Slovenia – Team & System

You will:

  • understand how your team actually works (roles, power, dynamics)
  • see what supports you and what drains you
  • practice clearer responsibility and delegation
  • learn how psychological safety is built in everyday moments
  • use simple methods for reflection with others
  • design small changes you can bring back to your team

BETWEEN THE TRAININGS

Participants are invited to test small changes in their work context and reflect on their experience.

This helps connect the two trainings and bring real-life learning into the process.
