Training Course
22-28 November 2021 | Italy
The main aim of this training of trainers is to strengthen the quality of European youth projects by training trainers of youth workers on facilitating learning in European youth projects. We will focus on the learning dimension as an essential quality factor in European youth programmes and explore the role of Youthpass in supporting awareness of learning.
Objectives:
The training will address the following topics:
Youthpass is the recognition and validation tool of the European youth programmes with over 1 million certificates issued since 2007. The users of Youthpass have said that it has supported them in becoming more aware of their competences and learning, and helped guide them in their future paths. Most users have found it works best when it is accompanied by a facilitated self-reflection and assessment process throughout a project. And here is where you are needed! As trainers of youth workers, you are the crucial multipliers to communicate the value of Youthpass as an education tool and for preparing youth workers to constructively engage with it. This training is designed to support you in that.
The training will address the following topics:
The training will be facilitated by Anita Silva, Mafalda Morganti and Nik Paddison. Please check the attached document to see the draft programme of the training.
Methodology
During the residential part of the training course, the focus will be on using each moment as a learning opportunity by making use of various tools and methods. The approach to learning will include opportunities for the participants to support each other in a variety of ways, in particular through self-directed learning support trios. Spaces will be offered to the participants with specific knowledge and expertise to run workshops for each other. We will be calling on the participants' experience, encouraging their critical thinking and analysis, utilising reflective practice combined with a strong self-responsibility aspect to the learning. We want to explore with the participants, as much as possible, the diversity of possible learning settings.
The residential part of the training course will be accompanied by asynchronous online activities before and after the training.
