School Inclusion Units Study Visit

Study Visit

20-24 May 2014 | Birmingham, United Kingdom

A number of education providers will be visited to analyse the use of non-formal methods to work with inclusion groups and to support formal education needs. The main aim of the project is to show a variety of alternatives for managing behaviour.
This programme is designed primarily to offer those working in formal education with marginalised young people new ideas in behaviour management. The project will host a group of 25 people from different European countries from the 20th to the 24th of May 2014 in Birmingham, UK. People dealing with challenging behaviour in formal education are invited to apply. We would welcome applications from youth leaders, youth workers, teachers and behaviour/classroom support workers. The focus of the training will be on enabling people working with inclusion groups to use non-formal methods to support formal education needs. The course will show youth workers and teachers a variety of alternative methods of managing behaviour. This will predominantly be done through skill-sharing both within the participant group and training team, as well as with invited experts from the alternative educational sector. The aim is to share practise, analyse the varying needs of young people and compare approaches for working together with individuals to support those needs - through formal and non-formal methods. Unfortunately this course in NOT for participants from Partner countries - PROGRAMME PAX ONLY. (Info for NAs - course financed with TCP budget)
