Safe Youth Work: Creating Psychologically and Physically Safe Environments

E-learning

29 July 2025 | Online, Hungary

How can youth work be made physically and emotionally safe? What can we do as youth workers to make young people feel truly safe? We will explore the topic using international research, a new training material and a newly launched online platform.

Online Conference that will take place on 29 July from 10:00 to 13:00.
The meeting will be held as part of the "Safety first! – Skills and competencies for youth workers" project, a KA2 Erasmus Plus initiative, on the Zoom platform. The project has lasted three years, will conclude on 31 August 2025, and has addressed the issue of ensuring both physical and psychological safety in youth work activities. It is promoted by IKTE - Hungarian Association for Expressive Arts and Dance Therapy (Hungary), with partners CDI - Community Development Institute Association (North Macedonia) and Protezione Civile Falchi del Salento ODV (Italy).

How can youth work be made physically and emotionally safe? What can we do as youth workers to make young people feel truly safe?
We will explore the topic using international research, a new training material and a newly launched online platform. We will present our findings and the materials we have developed.
We would then like to open the space for a joint discussion in plenary and in smaller groups, where there will be an opportunity to exchange experiences and gather new inspiration.
