Rural Youth Empowerment: Unlocking Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps 2.0

Are you part of an organization or informal group in a LAG area? Want to empower rural youth and explore Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps opportunities? Interested in meeting international partners? This seminar is for you!

After the first successful edition in Pärnu, Estonia, the Romanian National Agency will host the 2nd edition of the Rural Youth Empowerment: Unlocking Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps (ESC) seminar in November 2025. This event aims to provide comprehensive answers about Erasmus+ and ESC opportunities to all organizations working with or for young people in rural areas.

Aim of the Seminar

To foster collaboration and capacity building among LEADER Local Action Groups (LAGs) and other rural development actors, empowering them to effectively engage rural youth in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes.

Objectives

  • Inspire and Motivate: Encourage newcomer participants to initiate actions for rural youth engagement and empowerment through Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps.
  • Identify Synergies: Explore connections between the LEADER approach and European programmes, highlighting opportunities for international collaboration.
  • Share Best Practices: Provide a platform to conceptualize, analyze, and exchange experiences and best practices in youth engagement.
  • Encourage Networking: Facilitate networking and the development of future project ideas within the framework of European programmes.

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for 30 participants from across Europe who:

  • Work at a LEADER Local Action Group (LAG) or are directly involved with the LEADER programme.
  • Are interested in organizing international projects for young people in their area.
  • Have a good command of English (the working language of the seminar).
  • Can participate in the entire seminar (25 November is the arrival day, 26, 27 and 28 November activities days, 29 November is the departure day) and attend one preparatory online meeting.

  • Interactive sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities.
  • Support in understanding and submitting Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps applications.
  • Space to develop new project ideas and partnerships.

Costs

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

Romanian National Agency will organise the accommodation and will cover the costs for accommodation and food.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
