Raising Environmental Awareness is critical to maintaining sustainable living at the forefront of people's mind, but it is also a chance to educate people and spread the word to help safeguard nature.

Aim & Objectives

The aim is to raise awareness among young people and youth organizations on ecological issues concerning environmental protection and sustainability.

The objectives of the activity are participants to:

  • Explore Erasmus+/Youth Programme with focus on the priority of environment and fight against climate change. Information about European Solidarity Corps will be also shared.
  • Network, find new partners and build together projects aiming the protection of the environment and fight against climate change.
  • Reflect and create or strengthen your organisation's Green Strategy.
  • Exchange good practices and tools.
  • Get inspired by a study visit and the local community of Volos.

Through this activity, participants will have the opportunity to send their own message about the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change in the context of the European Year of Youth.

Target Group

This activity is recommended for youth workers, youth leaders, project managers, representatives of newcomers/experienced organizations, stakeholders, young people.

The participants should be over 18 years old and able to communicate in English.

Expected Outcomes

After the activity, participants will:

  • Be more aware on ecological issues in Europe.
  • Find new partners and people interested in the topic.
  • Have their own Green Strategy.

About Study Visit

We will visit Cob – Building with Earth (https://www.cob.gr/en/), an organization that deals with natural building and bioclimatic architecture, two practices that result in saving natural resources and energy, the first one at the construction stage of a house while the second one at maintaining stable conditions into it. Both of these practices result in huge enviromental but also economic benefits.

We will explore their farm in Nessonas and discuss about matters concerning energy, food, cultivation and generally with anything that can make our footprint more light and fair for planet earth.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Accommodation and food

The Hellenic NA will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
