Power UP: Building the Green Energy Future

Training Course

30 June - 8 August 2026 | Slovak Republic

The Power UP training course is an international activity aimed at equipping youth workers with the tools, knowledge, and leadership skills to promote sustainability, renewable energy, and responsible youth engagement across Europe.

Power UP is an international training course designed to strengthen the competences of youth workers in sustainability, leadership, and renewable energy. The project aims to equip youth workers with the practical knowledge, skills, and tools they need to inspire young people and lead meaningful environmental initiatives in their communities. By focusing on real-world learning and the use of non-formal education, Power UP prepares youth workers to act as catalysts for positive change in the green transition.

The project develops youth workers’ capacity in three key areas: sustainability competences, leadership and project management, and non-formal educational methods. Through workshops, experiential activities, and expert sessions, participants learn how to integrate renewable energy and sustainability themes into their daily youth work, design and manage local environmental projects, and engage young people through creative, participatory learning methods. A strong emphasis is placed on practical application, ensuring that participants leave with concrete ideas and action plans for use in their home communities.

Power UP also aims to create an international network of youth workers and organisations committed to sustainability. By fostering cross-border cooperation, sharing good practices, and strengthening professional connections, the project contributes to long-term collaboration and a stronger European youth sector capable of addressing environmental challenges. Ultimately, Power UP empowers youth workers to motivate young people, lead local sustainability initiatives, and generate lasting positive impact in their communities

NextGen Energy (Youth NGO)

NextGen Energy is a Slovak non-profit organisation established in 2023, dedicated to empowering young people to engage with renewable energy and sustainability. Our work began in 2022 when a team of students secured funding from the EUteens4Green initiative, gaining hands-on experience with EU project design and implementation. This early success shaped our mission: to educate, connect, and support young people in becoming future leaders of the green energy transition.

We operate as a youth-focused green energy hub built on three pillars: education, opportunity creation, and networking. Our activities include workshops, school programmes, webinars, field visits, and summer camps using project-based and experiential learning. We actively collaborate with energy experts, researchers, and sector professionals to ensure that young people gain both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. Through growing partnerships with NGOs, companies, and institutions, we also create pathways for internships, mentoring, and career development in the renewable energy sector.

Since our founding, we have implemented several national and international initiatives, such as the NextGen Energy Camps, the Youth Exchange “Energy of Future Generations” (2024), a Visegrad Fund–supported summer camp, and an educational programme for schools funded by TipSport. Our goal is to inspire and prepare young people to contribute to Europe’s sustainable and decarbonized future.
