Play.full.nest

Training Course

9-18 November 2026 | Ommen, Netherlands

Play.full.nest is an 8-day Erasmus+ Training Course for youth workers, educators and facilitators to explore playfulness through experiential and non-formal learning, bringing more creativity, presence and connection into their work.

Play.full.nest is an international Erasmus+ Training Course designed for youth workers, educators, facilitators, social workers, community practitioners and anyone supporting the learning and wellbeing of young people. Over eight immersive days, participants will explore how playfulness can become a powerful resource for personal growth, meaningful relationships and professional practice.

Rather than treating play as a collection of games or techniques, this training approaches playfulness as a mindset rooted in curiosity, imagination, spontaneity, humour, wonder and connection. Through experiential and non-formal education, participants will engage in a learning journey that combines personal exploration with practical application.

The programme includes embodied movement, creative exploration, reflection, co-design sessions, facilitation practice and integration circles. Participants will experiment with creating learning environments that are responsive, engaging and adapted to the real needs of groups instead of relying on fixed methods.

Beyond the residential training, participants will continue experimenting with playful approaches in their local communities, share their experiences with peers and reconnect during an online follow-up meeting, ensuring that learning continues long after the mobility ends.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • explore playfulness as an attitude that supports presence, creativity, adaptability and wellbeing;
  • strengthen their capacity to work with uncertainty, flexibility and emerging group processes;
  • experience practical tools and methods from experiential and non-formal education;
  • deepen self-awareness and reflect on their own facilitation style;
  • develop approaches for creating engaging and inclusive learning environments;
  • exchange practices and build connections within an international community of practitioners;
  • transfer their learning into their local youth work and community contexts.

Methodology

The training is based on experiential learning and non-formal education. Learning happens through direct experience, reflection, experimentation and peer exchange. Activities include movement-based sessions, creative exercises, small-group co-design, facilitation practice, reflective circles and informal community learning. Participants are invited to actively co-create the learning process while responding to the needs emerging within the group
