Permayouth 4.0

Training Course

15-21 November 2026 | palermo, Italy

Permayouth 4.0 is an Erasmus+ training course in Palermo exploring permaculture, sustainability and social transformation through non-formal learning, community visits and intercultural exchange.

Permayouth 4.0 is an Erasmus+ training course in Palermo exploring permaculture as a tool for social transformation. Through experiential workshops, field visits, peer exchange and podcast production, youth workers develop practical, sustainable approaches to strengthen their communities.

Permayouth 4.0 is an Erasmus+ training course for youth workers, trainers and educators actively involved in non-formal learning and youth work. The training explores permaculture as a practical and value-based framework for social transformation, sustainability and community empowerment.

The course is competence-oriented and designed to strengthen participants’ capacities to integrate ecological thinking into youth work practice. Through non-formal education methods such as experiential learning, peer exchange, reflection circles, field visits and collaborative activities, participants will explore how permaculture ethics — care for the Earth, care for people and fair share — can inform inclusive, participatory and socially responsible youth work.

A key activity of the training will be the collective production of a podcast episode, through which participants will share their reflections, experiences and ideas on permaculture, sustainability and social change. This creative process will support the development of communication, collaboration and storytelling skills, while providing a tool to disseminate the learning outcomes and inspire action within participants’ local communities.

The training focuses on developing competences related to:

Sustainability and environmental awareness in youth work

Community engagement and participatory methodologies

Facilitation and group process management

Critical thinking and systemic analysis

Communication, storytelling and digital content creation

Project design and local impact planning

The activity follows the principles of non-formal learning and includes structured reflection moments connected to Youthpass. Participants will leave with practical tools, strengthened professional competences, increased European networking capacity and ideas for transferring their learning into their organisations and communities. The podcast episode will also serve as a shared dissemination output, amplifying participants’ voices and promoting sustainable, community-led approaches to social transformation.
