PDA: Rural Youth Work Lab in the heart of Rural Sardinia

Seminar

29 October - 2 November 2026 | Gavoi, Italy

Join youth workers from across Europe in Gavoi, Sardinia! Exchange experiences, explore AI and rural youth work, discover new approaches and create connections that can grow into future partnerships and Erasmus+ projects.

Rural Youth Work Lab – Gavoi 2026 is a Professional Development Activity for youth workers and professionals working in the field of non-formal learning and youth work, particularly those working with young people in rural and remote areas.

Taking place in Gavoi, Sardinia (Italy), from 29 October to 2 November 2026, the activity will bring together youth workers from different European organisations to exchange experiences, reflect on the quality of youth work and explore innovative approaches that can be transferred to their own local contexts.

The programme focuses on four interconnected areas:

Quality & Innovation: reflecting on Erasmus+ mobility experiences, sharing good practices and exploring approaches to improve the quality of youth work;

Digital Competences & AI: practically exploring digital and AI tools that can support youth workers in educational planning, non-formal activities, communication and content creation, while discussing responsible and ethical use;

Rural Youth Work: exploring the challenges and opportunities of working with young people in rural areas, including geographical isolation, access to opportunities, participation and local development;

European Cooperation: creating space for networking, sharing common needs and developing ideas for future Erasmus+ projects and partnerships.

The methodology will be based on non-formal education, experiential learning and peer-to-peer exchange, using approaches such as World Café, Open Space, practical workshops, case studies, learning marketplaces, community visits and Design Thinking. Participants are expected to actively contribute by sharing their own experiences, practices, tools and challenges.

A specific focus will be placed on capitalising on previous Erasmus+ experiences and building future cooperation. Participants will have the opportunity to reconnect with European organisations, identify common interests and develop ideas for future collaborations, mobility activities and Erasmus+ projects.

The activity is hosted by Malik ETS, an Erasmus+ accredited organisation based in Sardinia, with experience in youth work, international mobility and cooperation, particularly in rural contexts
