Partner Building Activity for Municipalities and Youth Organisations – with focus towards 13-17 Y/O youths.

Partnership-building Activity

22-26 September 2025 | Haninge municipality , Sweden

Are you working with young people aged 13–17 and interested in organising inclusive youth exchanges? Join our Partner Building Activity (PBA) in Haninge, Sweden!

This Partner Building Activity (PBA) is designed to bring together representatives from municipalities and youth organisations working with young people aged 13–17, with a specific interest in developing high-quality Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges. The PBA will focus on creating strong, trust-based partnerships, exploring inclusion practices, and developing concrete ideas for future projects.

Over the course of three full activity days, participants will engage in a structured and interactive programme combining non-formal learning, practical exchange, and thematic reflection. The aim is to not only build partnerships but also enhance participants' capacity to design impactful, inclusive youth exchanges that actively involve young people from the early stages of planning.

Day 1: Building Trust and Understanding Contexts
The programme begins with team-building activities and interactive sessions where participants present their organisations, local contexts, and work with young people. Using participatory mapping and storytelling methods, we will explore both shared challenges and diverse realities. This day lays the foundation for trust and open dialogue throughout the activity.

Day 2: Youth Participation & Field Visits
We start the day with a presentation by staff from Haninge Municipality on how we involve young people in the planning and development of our international youth exchanges. The presentation will give insight into practical approaches, challenges, and lessons learned from our inclusive work.
After the session, we continue with activities designed to deepen the connection between participants and their organisations. Through informal networking tools and guided dialogues, we build further trust and mutual understanding.
The second half of the day will be spent on study visits to local youth centres and community initiatives. These visits will offer practical insight into how municipal and local youth work is organised in Haninge, and provide inspiration for future collaborations.

Day 3: From Ideas to Action – Project Lab
The final day is dedicated to project development. Through facilitated “project labs,” participants will work in smaller groups to identify common interests, form partnerships, and begin drafting outlines for future youth exchange projects. They will be guided through key steps such as defining objectives, building inclusive group compositions, developing educational content, and linking the project to Erasmus+ priorities. Time will also be given to clarify administrative questions, timeline planning, and identifying next steps.

Throughout the PBA, we will use non-formal learning methods such as world café, open space, peer-to-peer exchange, and reflection groups. Daily evaluation and Youthpass reflection moments are included to support personal learning and professional development.

Please note: The programme described above is a draft and may be subject to changes. A final version with confirmed schedule, session details, and practical information will be shared in an info pack that will be sent to all selected participants well in advance of the activity.

This PBA is not just about finding partners – it is about strengthening our collective capacity to design meaningful, inclusive, and youth-centred exchanges.

This Partner Building Activity is organised by Ung Fritid, the youth work division of Haninge Municipality, located just outside Stockholm, Sweden. Ung Fritid is part of the local department for culture and leisure and works to create meaningful, safe and inclusive environments for young people aged 13–20.

Haninge Municipality has been actively involved in Erasmus+ Youth projects since 2021, when we were granted our Erasmus+ Accreditation in the field of youth (KA150). Since then, we have developed and hosted youth exchanges, preparatory visits, and training activities within the Erasmus+ framework, focusing particularly on accessibility and meaningful participation for young people.

All our international projects are developed together with young people and youth workers, ensuring that the needs, ideas, and perspectives of youth are central from planning to implementation and follow-up. A key priority is to include young people with fewer opportunities, and we use a range of inclusive methods to achieve this.

This PBA is part of our long-term international strategy to build strong partnerships, exchange good practices, and contribute to higher quality in international youth work within Erasmus+.

Our team includes experienced youth workers and international project coordinators, with a strong commitment to non-formal education, intercultural learning and inclusive practices in youth mobility projects.
