Participatory EU Enlargement

Training Course

25-26 June 2026 | Kraków, Poland

This activity will be held primarily in the POLISH LANGUAGE. No interpretation will be provided. Training course devoted to the future of European Union enlargement and the role of citizens in the process of European integration.

This activity is primarily addressed to youth workers, youth leaders, and youth project managers, as they play an important role in supporting young people’s civic engagement, democratic participation, and understanding of European affairs. At the same time, the training is also open to young people who want to learn, grow, become more engaged, and deepen their understanding of European integration, in particular students active in academic clubs, student organisations, and other educational or civic initiatives.

The training is organised within the framework of the Participatory EU Enlargement (PEN) project, co-funded by the European Union. The project focuses on one of the key challenges currently facing the European Union: the process of EU enlargement. Its main objective is to increase citizens’ engagement in the debate on the future of the Union and to enable them to participate more actively in shaping the enlargement process. PEN promotes dialogue between people from EU Member States, the Western Balkans, and Ukraine, while also strengthening cooperation among civil society organisations, experts, and decision-makers.

We particularly welcome:

  • youth workers involved in educational, civic, or social initiatives,
  • youth leaders and coordinators of local or international youth activities,
  • youth project managers working in NGOs, foundations, associations, or informal groups,
  • students and graduates of social sciences, economics, law, and related fields,
  • members of academic clubs and student organisations,
  • young people interested in European integration, EU politics, democracy, and international cooperation,
  • students of technical and medical universities interested in the social and civic dimension of the European Union.

The programme includes:

  • interactive lectures and workshops based on non-formal education methods,
  • debates on the EU enlargement process and the future of the European Union,
  • practical exercises, simulations, and teamwork,
  • integration activities that support dialogue, cooperation, and civic engagement in relation to European integration.

For more than 20 years, the European Institute Foundation has been implementing projects in the fields of European education, international cooperation, and youth engagement, promoting democratic values and the idea of active citizenship.
