The project idea is to bring together 30 young leaders/workers and empower them by exchanging the best practices on the topic of youth participation and promoting alternative forms of participation.

The project idea is to bring together 30 young leaders/workers from Germany, Ukraine and Georgia and empower them by exchanging the best practices on the topic of youth participation.

The aim is to promote alternative forms of participation via creative performances, online
activities, and other means of involvement and carrying out video instructions, the publication (toolbox) and via local actions test them and create a new mindset within organizations and young people for further the exploitation of the innovative methods of participation in participating countries and beyond.

The objectives of the project:
1. Exchange the best practices of participation via alternative means among participations and thus promote/equip participants with alternative participation-related competencies.
2. Promote alternative ways of participation within the participating youth organizations and beneficiary young people at organizational, local, national and international levels via concrete action plans.
3. Explore digital tools (web and mob apps) in promoting youth participation including alternative ways.
4. create intellectual visual outcome(s) (booklet and e-visual resources - posters, videos, pics) for further dissemination.
5. promote intercultural dialogue and exchange among participants.

During the project, there will be: 

1. 10 days of residential meetings in Bakuriani, Georgia - 1-10 May 2023. 

2. Local actions in Georgia, Ukraine and Germany - Before 30 June. 

The criteria for participating in the project, are the following: 

  • Being aged 14-35 (Because of the funding rules, we had to limit the upper age)
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Representing the country of partner organization – Ukraine,
  • Germany or Georgia (citizen or residency).
  • Motivation to take part fully in the project including local
  • actions and planning.
  • Being involved in the partner organisations' work as
  • volunteer or member is an asset.
  • Having experience in public/civic activism or working on the topic of participation is an asset.

The project is organized by the youth organization Umbrella (Georgia), in cooperation with youth organizations Development and initiative (Ukraine) and New Horizon (Germany).


The project is financed by the EVZ foundation and the Federal Foreign Office in the scope of MEET UP! Youth for the Partnership funding program.

Accommodation and food are fully covered by the project. 

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs will be reimbursed in the following limits: 

Germany - up to 500 Euros per participant.
Ukraine - up to 300 Euros per participant.
