Explore outdoor education as a tool to boost mental health and build skills to apply this knowledge in practice, especially to support youth and tackle today’s challenges.

It’s a training on outdoor education for educators

You will discover outdoor education specifically as a tool for improving mental health and develop Your competencies to apply newly gained knowledge in practice especially in relation to supporting mental health among youth as a way to address the challenges of nowadays.

Objectives:

  • discover outdoor and experiential learning, types of outdoor education activities
  • identify the stress factors which influence youth workers in partner countries
  • equip participants with the theoretical knowledge on key pillars of mental health and reflect on its incorporation in participants’ lives
  • to give the participants an opportunity to directly experience various outdoor methods and techniques in order to improve their mental health and connection with nature
  • to raise participants’ awareness of appreciation for nature through learning values in outdoor education
  • reflect on ways of incorporating these methods and techniques into their daily work with youth for stress- management including young people with fewer opportunities
  • to train youth workers in using stress-management tools in youth work in different contexts
  • develop participants competences in designing, planning, implementing and evaluating outdoor and experiential learning activities for mental health

Participants:

  • Background: youth workers and educators working with young people from different backgrounds
  • Should be 18 years old or over
  • Should be able to communicate in English
  • Should take part in the whole period of the training course
  • Should be ready to promote activities in own community after the training course ends

Selected participants are in charge of organising a local event, at least for 10 participants (seminar, workshop etc) for own community within 2 months after the training course comes to an end

Selected participants are in charge of dissemination and visibility activities of the project.

Participation fee

There's no participation fee. 

Accommodation and food

All costs related to accomodation, meals, coffee breaks, materials within the dates of the project are covered by organizers.

Travel reimbursement

Transfer from Krakow to Dobczyce (Venue) and way back will be organized by the host.

Poland: 28 euro
Estonia, France, Lithuania, Latvia: 289 euro/ 397 euro green travel
Greece, Sweden, North Macedonia: 289 euro
