Out with the BurnOut: Recharge. Reflect. Reconnect.

Training Course

21-27 September 2026 | Bansko, Bulgaria

Recharge, reflect, reconnect: hands-on tools to recognise and prevent burnout, protect your mental and physical health, and build sustainable self-care habits through non-formal education, coaching and peer support.

Out with the Burnout vol. 3 is a training course for youth workers, trainers, mentors and staff of youth organisations who work directly with young people — including those facing additional barriers. This activity is specifically targeted at practitioners active in the field of non-formal learning and youth work, who are looking for practical, embodied tools rather than theory alone.

Burnout is one of the most under-addressed challenges in youth work: the emotional demands of supporting young people, often with limited resources and time, take a real toll on those doing the supporting. This training gives participants a full week to step back, recognise the early signs of burnout, and build sustainable self-care habits — using non-formal education methods, coaching techniques, movement and body-awareness practices, group reflection and peer support.

Across the week, participants will explore where burnout comes from, exchange experiences with peers from partner countries, and practise recovery techniques first-hand rather than just discussing them. The programme combines indoor sessions with outdoor activities set in the Pirin mountains, creating space for both learning and genuine rest.

Participants will leave with concrete strategies for protecting their own well-being, plus tools they can adapt and pass on to the young people and colleagues they work with.

The training will take place 21–27 September 2026 at Hotel Royal Bansko, Bulgaria. Accommodation and meals are fully covered, and travel costs are reimbursed up to €200 per participant. Applications are accepted until 15 August 2026.

Probudnik Associacion (Youth NGO)

ProBudnik Association is a Bulgarian youth organisation founded in 2013 by a team with backgrounds in social work, education, psychology and business. Our mission is to help young people unlock their full potential, with a particular focus on those at risk or facing additional challenges. We combine non-formal education with coaching, sport and outdoor activities to support genuine personal growth, and we work bottom-up with partners across Europe to build environments where young people can develop confidence, critical thinking and independence.

Alongside our direct work with youth, we invest heavily in supporting the people who work with them — training and motivating youth workers, trainers and teachers, and developing new tools and approaches to make their work more effective and sustainable. Burnout prevention and well-being support for youth workers has become one of our long-term priorities, reflected in the "Out with the Burnout" series, now in its third edition.

This training course is implemented under ProBudnik's Erasmus+ Accreditation in Youth (KA151-YOU, accreditation No. 2023-1-BG01-KA150-YOU-000194875), within the framework of our accredited activity plan focused on the physical and mental health and well-being of youth workers, inclusion of marginalised young people, and quality and innovation in youth work.
