This course is for youth workers and young people who want to develop the knowledge and practical skills to create, manage and sustain inclusive, impactful youth centres that respond effectively to young people’s needs.

This e-course is an online preparation tool designed  for Youth Centre Coordinators and young people who want to gain the knowledge, practical tools, and inspiration needed to create inclusive, sustainable, and impactful youth centres.

Participants

The course is open for participants from Programme and Partner countries of E+.

Programme countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, and Serbia.


Objectives of the course – key elements

By the end of this training course, the participants are expected to:

  • to understand the advantages and challenges of having a youth centre in a community;
  • to be able to identify at least 5 activities to be realised in a youth centre;
  • to be capable to propose a basic budget for a youth centre;
  • to practice the key functions of a youth centre coordinator.

 

Topics covered

We will cover some main aspects in areas such as:

  • the definition and role of youth centres;
  • European youth centre models;
  • youth centre setup and organization;
  • management and coordination;
  • equipment and resource management;
  • budget management;
  • activity evaluation and sustainability;
  • data protection (GDPR);
  • youth activities and programmes;
  • mobile and virtual youth centres.


Learning tools

You will be able to connect with people from different countries and learn at your own pace. Throughout the course, you will use different learning tools and resources designed to accommodate different learning styles: e-books for each chapter, for those who prefer reading and exploring the content independently; audio-visual presentations for participants who learn better through visual and auditory materials; mind maps to remember important information; interactive challenges to make the learning process more engaging; quizzes to test your knowledge; supplementary resources to further explore the topics; and an e-game that allows you to simulate real-life challenges related to managing a youth centre.


Time

You will need between 30-35 hours to complete the course, depending on your study pace. You can choose your own study period within the general course period proposed there.


Price

Our course is free of charge for the participants, thanks to the funds from Erasmus+ programme and the efforts made by the team of the project.


Certificate

When you have fulfilled the basic requirements, you will get a course attendance certificate.


Languages

Currently, the course is available in English. It will soon be available in French, Bulgarian, Greek, Romanian, Italian, and Polish.
