Nourish to Flourish

Training Course

22-30 October 2025 | Lousã, Portugal

This training course aims to strengthen youth workers’ emotional ecology through self-awareness, empathy, and social skills—empowering them to foster well-being, connection, and emotional safety in their work with young people.

Due to an overwealming amount of applications received we are closing this selection phase early.

This training course focuses on “Emotional Ecology”, aiming to enhance youth workers’ self-care, emotional resilience and strengthen both interpersonal and intrapersonal competencies. As youth workers navigate complex social realities, their ability to understand and manage emotions—both their own and those of others—is essential for creating safe, inclusive, and empowering environments for young people.

Through a series of experiential learning sessions, participants will explore key areas of emotional ecology: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Each day will combine interactive activities such as role plays, group exercises, guided reflection, and peer learning to translate theory into practice through non-formal education.

Objectives:

  • Equip youth workers with practical tools to support young people emotionally and socially.
  • Enhance emotional self-awareness and the ability to regulate personal responses.
  • Foster empathy and motivation in professional practice.
  • Strengthen communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Support the creation of emotionally safe, responsive, and engaging learning spaces.

During this training course, youth workers will gain the following:

  • Practical tools to support young people in navigating emotions and building resilience
  • Greater self-awareness and insight into their own emotional patterns
  • Techniques for managing stress, frustration, and emotional overload in a constructive way
  • Strategies to stay motivated and aligned with personal and professional values
  • Enhanced empathy to better understand and respond to others’ emotional needs
  • Communication skills for building trust, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration
  • Confidence in creating emotionally safe, inclusive, and engaging group environments
